A celebration of the natural environment is the key focus to my work. It is essential for me to be a part of the natural world exploring the local topography on my walks and cycle rides. Through the continual process of observing the landscape around me, sketching, taking photographs and using a variety of simple printmaking techniques ; I creatively experiment and develop ideas for starting points for my paintings. 

The intensity of light, colour, structure and texture are elements that I focus on and push the boundaries to convey the magic of the changing seasons.

I was born and have lived and worked in Hertfordshire for most of my life. Berkhamsted has been my home for over 20 years. I am passionate about the Chiltern countryside. As a keen walker, I have explored most of its footpaths including walking the Hertfordshire Way.
